Since my friend Sarah Jane of
Sarah Jane Studios (check out her
fabulousness here) wrote in her blog and alerted me to one of
my favorite bloggers incredibly tragic story, I decided I absolutely must get involved, even in some small way, as I truly hope to God someone would step up and do the same for me or my loved ones in such a horrible situation... I am totally copying Sarah's post as she is clearly far more eloquent than I:
The Silly Wagon with the FULL support and donations of our incredible Indie designers has more than few Silent Auctions up at Tangled and True, in support of the Neilson Family that needs our help. This auction is NOT about buying cute stuff (although you WILL be getting cute stuff for your auction) it is about being generous when you don't really have to, when you don't even know these people but hope and pray that the world CAN indeed be kind to strangers... keeping mind the auctions are 100% for them, no one is earning any money here, not even covering the cost of making and shipping the items. Every cent will go to The Neilson Family. EVERY CENT.
For those of you who don't know, Stephanie and Christian Neilson (parents of 4 children under the age of 5 and author of the ever popular blog: Nie Nie Dialogues) were in a tragic plane crash 2 weeks ago which killed the pilot, Doug Kennard, but left the couple with severe third degree burns covering most of their body (Stephanie 80% and Christian 30%). Their 4 children will be living with extended family while Stephanie and Christian remain in critical condition, enduring months and months of treatments. They are currently in a chemically induced coma, and are expected to be sedated for several months. Their medical bills are expected to be in the millions, and people all around the world are committing to help.I hope that if you are able, you will try to 'win' one of the auctions.
