How can you possibly be 5? It's too soon...
Ok, so my little cherub is going to be 5 years old on the 29th (as is his 'Gaga' - well, grandma won't be 5, but they share the same birthday) and I am not sure I should allow it. I mean, I am the Mom, after all. My sweet boy is sweeter than ever, but with a 'tude and killer aptitude for the computer, he's into 'group hugs' with the little ladies at school and I'm pretty sure he made a playdate with a gorgeous Mom we met at the park the other day...
Jack tells me I am beautiful almost everyday and makes sure to add that he loves me 'all the way to the sky, until it breaks to dark' He is obsessed with cars, legos, and loves his doggie stuffed animals Lucky, Lucky 2, and Lucky 3. He comes into my bed to cuddle every morning and to tell me about his dreams.
He adores and protects his baby sister, until he doesn't anymore and then he threatens to not be her brother anymore... When you apologize to him, he says "I forgive you" (or the soul crusher - "I don't forgive you, Mommy!") When I ask him to get something for me, if he is willing, he always says "Of course" as if nothing else would make him happier...
This child of mine, my sunshine, my negotiator, master stall-er. The kid makes me paint his toenails black so he can be a Rock Star! He asked me to cut his hair the other day and I hacked the crap out of it, and that boy still looks handsome. I have my hands full with the two of them, but I find so much joy in my children and quite frankly, I love how secure, stubborn and strong willed they both are. My mom laughs that I got mine back ten fold... and I always say, I wouldn't have it any other way. My kids are special little souls and I am so happy to get to be their mother.
Happy Birthday Jack-a-doodle, we love you so much! The world would not beas bright and shiny without you in it.
