Celebration of Babies March of Dimes Luncheon

Wow, what an incredible honor it was to have been invited to the a participating boutique at the annual March of Dimes, Celebration of Babies! I was thrilled beyond belief when Melissa Joan Hart invited me personally! It was a no-brainer that The Silly Wagon would be there to participate in this charity event. It was so exciting for us to be a part of such a fabulous charity and to meet the adorable "ambassador" Getting to meet and chat with the celebrity mom's was simply way too much fun!

When we got there, we found we were situated directly in the middle of the room! The fact that I am not a person who knows the meaning of packing light was never more apparent as we had to keep asking for more tables... 6 long tables in all as well as 2 clothing racks and we truly did end up being the 'centerpiece' of the room! Amy Callaway from Bella Bows and her adorable sister-in-law Joy, joined my mother and I to cover the event and I can't say enough about how awesome it was to have the extra hands!!

Everyone just loved TSW (although, I have a feeling that the Treat Bags of candy we handed out might have helped out there...) The ladies seemed to love the adorable Chalkmats from Dine and Doodles, the Sushi Washcloth sets by Jen Kalea, Piggy Story Art Folios, Dumpling Dynasty and of course, Bella Bows beanies and flowers! Not to mention Oopsy Daisy Baby pettiskirts, Girls Day Out apron skirts, Sparkle Shoppe hair bling, Pooki and one of our 'personal' favorites, Paperlili! Kellie Martin's adorable little girl Maggie HAD to have our darling French Corolle doll, Calin Raspberry!

While the champagne flowed and the biggest jumbo shrimp I have ever seen were being devoured (mainly by us girls at The Silly Wagon!) people wandered the boutiques and kept coming back to our 'shop'! Once the luncheon was under way, the speaker Jenny Garth came wandering in, only to find to her dismay, that the boutiques were shutting down. I was so awed by how cute she looked, I completely forgot to ask her to snap a pic with me!! Next year, I hope!

In the meantime, I was busy being a social butterfly and grabbing all the celeb's for a quick snapshot! Can I just say how tiny they all were, except for gorgeous Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon, who is a stunning woman!

I had to literally crouch down to have my picture taken with Melissa Joan Hart and Bradyn... I never would have guessed she was so tiny (and in fabulous stiletto red heels, even!) I looked like a total grease monkey... I have never looked so oily in my entire life! After seeing these picturs of myself with the lovely ladies of Hollywood, I ran right out and bought some matte-ifying gunk at The Body Shop (grab some, it works like a charm) Too bad I didn't realize it until too late...

Debbie Martin, yup she's Kellie's mom, was incredible. A real pro, she had the entire event flowing smoothly and on time. I have to say I was mighty impressed. When I snuck away to take a look around, I stopped short at the line of 'razzi getting everyone's entrance! WHOA, thats the closest I have ever gotten (and probably ever will get) to a Red Carpet! If you look closely at this video you will NOT see me, off to the left right out of the camera's view while Melissa Joan Hart was being interviewed. LOL Plus if you look at the picture of Julie Bowen and I, you may notice we were chatting. About what you ask? Chasing toddlers! I loved Julie, and well, we may not be BFF's but it was fun talking to her casually as just two regular moms.

I got to talk to all kinds of people and I am so out of the loop, I didn't even KNOW half of them were actors and actresses! Sheesh... I gotta brush up on my celeb ABC's next time!
