Meet Our New Friend! Asher From Capture Eden Photography

I was recently lucky enough to come across this fantastic photographers work on her website. We got to talking and I thought, we should interview women in business, who have children...get to know the other girls like us...we're all trying to be Super Women, whether we work in the home, from home or put on a suit (or jeans) and go to a job daily. I would love for you to nominate a woman you know, who we should all get to know! This is Asher, from Capture Eden Photography in Asheville, North Carolina. She has some truly lovely photographs, and I hope some day she might "shoot" my family

1. Asher, your new website is dreamy and gorgeous, please share your web address.

www.captureeden.com

2. Who is your favorite subject to photograph?

My absolute favorites are newborns and young children! Anyone young at heart is a blast to photograph!

3. Where are you located?

We are located in Asheville, NC but travel all over North America for photo shoots.

4. Which camera do you use?

I use a Canon 5D

5. Do you do on-location photography, studio, both?

Right now I shoot on-location only. That would include in clients homes, a favorite park or any other fun place. I do have studio lighting and backdrops I bring with me just incase I want that “look”.

6. What is your favorite thing about being a photographer?

Not having to work in a cubicle. That and I LOVE being able to capture personality, interaction and special moments in an artistic way. And while editing can sometimes be monotonous, the job as a whole is anything short of boring.

7. If you were a teacher of photography, what is the first thing that you would teach your student?

I would teach my student a few things. First, that no matter what, you will never know it all.... there is always more to learn. Second, never get complacent. And third, egos are just plain ugly.

8. Define your photography style.

My style is simple and artistic and while being that I am striving to capture the true spirit of what I am photographing!

9. How did you get started in photography?

My dad is a professional photographer and my mom an art teacher so I think it lives in my DNA. I really didn’t claim it as my own until high school when I had to choice of taking a photography class or an automotive class as my elective.

10. How long have you been in the business of photography?

I've been in business since the beginning of '04.

11. How long does it take you to get your clients proofs back to them

after a shoot?

About a week and then I have clients come to our studio (used only for Consultations and Order Sessions)

12. How did you choose Eden Photography as the name of your business?

I chose Eden Photography instead of a self-titled business because I love the true meaning of Eden. It means “complete bliss, delight and peace”. This is what I want to capture in my subjects and to radiate in my photographs.

I asked Asher to share two of her favorite photos with us...she said that was tough to do, but she ultimately chose to share the ones you see here. I am just so impressed by her work! Thank you Asher, and kiss those 3 little ones of yours...you really are a Super Mom!
