The Silliest Wagon Caption Contest

Ok, so don't hate me because I am beautiful...(must keep telling myself this so as not to call my Plastic Surgeon after seeing this picture...no, no, my Plastic Surgeon is NOT on speed dial, I swear!)
Whilst playing with my darling offspring, we started digging into our dress up trunk...magically becoming mechanics, construction workers, belly dancers, Dora (sans lead) and even a chef serving picnic foods like poconut and cookies( I just love how my kids screw up words...good times) Things took a turn for the ugly when, much to my dismay and delight...I became the object of their dress up fantasies! Why is it that I am always subjected to this humiliation ( ok, I love it, but play along with me here) I think it is because I really am a pretty cool mom, although I guilt myself into believing otherwise on occasion. You know how it is, right?!

So here you go, I am trusting you to have fun with me and not at my expense...please, if you will, Name That Picture!!

...and for the record, no I do not ACTUALLY have a Plastic Surgeon. As if I needed to tell you that...you did in fact SEE the picture up above, right? Anyone with a Plastic Surgeon would not look like that! Um, well except for this freak...WHOA! <<<>

Ok, you know what is so sad that I may have to go throw myself off a tall building...with that fabulous head dress and my face (au naturale) I, slightly, if you squint and tilt your head a bit, look like the freak I mock. I am going to go kill myself now...

I miss Mister Rogers

"You know you don't have to be an actor when you read a book to a child. All you need is to simply love what you're reading. Even just enjoying the pictures together is a great start. When you share a book with a child, you're saying to them that books are important. That's a gift that can nurture them all through their lives."

Matt and Isabella Damon: Bird Talk

Isabella_damon_070610_01_cbb_2 Since she hasn't mastered speech yet, Isabella Damon, 13 months, communicates by crowing, according to dad Matt. The Bourne Ultimatum star says his daughter constantly crows and laughs, which makes it a tad difficult for him to understand her at times.

Well, right now, she kind of sounds like a crow. She kind of goes like [makes funny crow caw sound twice]. Like that. And she points at things. And this morning, like she pointed at the ceiling, and there was nothing on the ceiling. And she just went [makes crow sound] like that. And I was like, 'Well, that's the ceiling.' And she went [he does a silly laugh]. And I was like, 'I don't know what's funny about that.'

So I'm trying to figure out what's going on in her head. Sometimes she just has these things that I just have no idea what she's thinking. So I'm working on that.

We think Isabella may just be the cutest celebrity baby right now! She is so adorable and I have to say I love that Matt and Ben are both dads together. What a great experience for them both! It's also so nice to see that both the Affleck and Damon families take vacations together...so much more "normal family" stuff than most of what Hollyweird is doing these days, isn't it? ~Whitney

From Our New Favorite Blog, Goody Blog,
Brought To You By Parents Magazine!

via GoodyBlog

It's a subject that potentially can put a knot in our stomachs and an ache in our heads. And a subject that, if ignored, can put a major wrench in our futures. What is this you ask? Saving money. And if you delay, time can be your enemy. I found a great site called Early Earners that helps you get into the practice of saving money with your child so that he (and possibly you too) can stop waiting for that money tree to bloom. A_penny_wise_art

Shopping for the right savings account is akin to shopping for car insurance or a carpet cleaner. You don't want to search; you just want to be pointed in the right direction. APY, APR, FDIC...to me, it's like looking at my letter selection in a game of Scrabble. Early Earners will spoon feed you (sorry, no motorized airplane sound though) with simple-to-understand definitions that make banking less scary.

Early Earners says, start them early. Sit with your kids and open an account. Play with the nifty calculators the site provides that show you what saving a dollar will mean in 20 years. Or how resisting that extra toy can benefit you down the road. These folks have read the small print so you don't have to, and they've given you their MBA-educated opinion. The site is chock full of info if you want it, and a clear-cut button to savings if you don't. (If online financial transactions worry you, there is no need to fret here, as they link you to HSBC, a fully accredited bank with all the safe and secure bells and whistles.)

Piggy banks are cute and all, but don't we want that bacon come breakfast time?
