Trying To Be SuperMom, And Coming Up Short
This post is going to be a little different...forgive and bear with me. I have 2 toddlers; well, a toddler and an almost pre-schooler...ok, lets just say I have Cajun Twins! Jack is 3.5 and Georgia just turned 2 last month. They are 17 months apart and yes, I must have been completely out of my mind when I PURPOSELY chose to get pregnant again so quickly. I can honestly say I didn't know what the hell I was getting myself into. I am an only child, of a single mother! How could I have possibly known what this was going to be like?
I absolutely adore my crazy children, they are a joy to behold. When they are asleep. When they are awake, they are the definition of chaos in motion. It's never boring in our house, but it is almost always fun! I may complain but I have to say that every new week brings more funny experiences, more love and laughter, and a deepening bond between the 2 Silly Wagons. I even get people asking if they are twins (although they don't look enough alike AND Jack is a giant whereas Georgia is shorter and rounder!) They think the same, have conversations I do not understand, chase each other and play merrily...at least until Georgia shows even the remotest interest in anything that Jack "owns"...then there are the inevitable crocodile tears and throwing of bodies onto the floor. All that, before 7:30 am, everyday.
I was, again, clearly in my right mind when I decided to open this shop with my partner, Vered. Ok, maybe not, but hey, I had a dream and I was going to see it through! And we have...The Silly Wagon is doing exceptionally well, given it's only been just over 2 weeks since we opened our virtual doors! We have gotten terrific reviews, lots of traffic on the site and even quite a bit of sales. The sales were the most surprising, as we have had hardly any inventory and very few products in the shop. Have no fear the Fall clothing lines are arriving very, very soon (meaning lots of work for us but plenty of cool stuff for you.) But WHEW, I am worn out. I was in a whirlwind there for about 3 weeks and felt really lucky if I managed 3 hours of sleep a night! This owning your own business and working from home thing, is not quite the walk in the park I had convinced myself it would be. So, I want to just take this post to thank my amazing (and very good looking and quite fit) husband and 2 darling and hysterically funny children for putting up with me and the dirty laundry, the clean laundry that never got put away, and the delivery dinners....Mommy loves you and she is BACK. Look out for lots of tickles and silly made-up songs (80's dance moves included) And Jack, I promise you, you are going to LOVE taking swim lessons!
~love and kisses,
mommy

As the mother of Irish Twins, can I just tell you I LOVE the Cajun Twins comment!
You are so ambitious. You rock! What a fun site to share with my cronies. I'm glad to know about it!
